Beloved wife of 63 years, mother, grandmother, sister and friend.
Preceded in death by her parents Emil and Jennie Chial.Age 84, lifelong resident of Stillwater Passed away peacefully at dawn on October 3, 2015, in the comfort of her home, surrounded by husband Malcolm and all of their children. She lived with grace, and chose to treat everyone with respect and kindness. She had an enduring sense of humor: yes, that was her in the chemo chair wearing fluorescent tennis shoes, giving away the dishrags she'd been knitting to pass the time. Myrna chose an active and healthy lifestyle. At 60 she tried her hand at rollerblading, and only gave up her beloved bike at 80 on doctors' orders. She was a graduate of Macalester College, and an elementary school teacher in Mahtomedi until her own family started to grow. Myrna is survived by husband of 63 years, Malcolm, and sister, Alice; children, Cindy (Greg), Becky (David), Pam (Scott), Missy and Brian (MaryJane), and ten grandchildren, all of whom will miss her sparkling blue eyes and ready smile. Preceded in death by parents, Emil and Jennie; brothers, James, Robert, John, David, Richard and Donald. We would like to thank the truly remarkable staff of Lakeview Homecare and Hospice for all they did for Myrna and her family. A celebration of Myrna's life will be held on Thursday, October 8th at 11 AM at FIRST PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH, 6201 Osgood Ave N., Stillwater with a visitation beginning at 10 AM. Interment at Fairview Cemetery, Stillwater. Memorials preferred to Lakeview Homecare and Hospice or to the First Presbyterian Church of Stillwater.
