Addison Emilie Nye, age 4, of "Elkarkik Lake" (Elkhart Lake) became a shining star in the sky on Wednesday September 30, 2015. She was born in Johnson City, TN on June 14, 2011 and was selflessly given by her birth parents to Thomas & Nancy (Seifert) Nye. Thomas and Nancy were blessed to be present at her birth and were the first to hold her. Their dream of parenthood was finally realized.

Addison lived her first three years in New Jersey, where she touched the lives of everyone she met with her spirit, vibrant energy and loving soul. Her heartfelt hugs were generously shared with everyone she met. In June of 2014, she and her family moved "home" to Wisconsin. Addison was currently attending 4K class at Zielanis Elementary in Kiel and Sunday School at St. James UCC, the church where she was baptized. Last year she attended both Kiel Cooperative Preschool and the John Michael Kohler Arts Center Preschool. She enjoyed camp at Bookworm Gardens, as she loved to read and was fast approaching 600 books on her way to 1,000 before kindergarten. Her last two reads were "I Love My Mom" and "I Love My Dad."

Addison was involved in gymnastics, dance, and she spent her entire summer at the beach. She was able to put her feet in the autumn water, the day before her passing. She enjoyed having play dates with many friends, and took swim lessons. She fulfilled her dream by starting horseback riding lessons a week before her passing. Addison loved to travel with her mother and father. She especially loved to garden, with her mother, Auntie "Jan-Jan" and Auntie "Sue-Sue," which was a love and passion of her grandmother, Violet. Saturdays were especially fun, skipping to the farmers' market for a watermelon cookie and to pet any and every dog willing to receive her love. Much like her grandmother Hulya, her inner spirit was connected to animals of all types, especially dogs, horses and lions. If you were lucky enough to receive one of her lion roars, it was a gesture of love and meant to let you know she was your friend and wanted to play. Addison loved to star gaze with her father and look for the "sface" (space) station, the moon and Venus. She just recently declared her favorite mode of transportation, a space shuttle, so she could go to Mars. Her imagination and sense of wonder will be greatly missed.

Those remaining who grieve the loss of Addison and cherish her memories are her parents; Thomas and Nancy Nye, Elkhart Lake, grandfather; Roger Nye, Carlsbad, CA, aunts and uncles; Elizabeth Kennedy, Sausalito, CA, Madelyn (Tom) Iannacone, Houston, TX, Alex Nye, Los Angeles, CA, Sue (Ken) Sell, Kiel, Janice (Fred) Reindl, St. Nazianz, cousins; Michael and Matthew Reindl, Alexa and Zachary Iannacone. She is further survived by many dear close friends, neighbors and caregivers who were family to her; Gilbert family, Ingargiola family, Barthel family, Rachel and Marissa Brandon and the Cash family. She is also survived by her birth family as well as her beta fish, Dori.

Addison was preceded in death by her grandparents; Violet & Melvin "Mickey" Seifert and Hulya Nye, Violet's cat, Muffy, and two beta fish, both named Dori.

Funeral services for Addison will be held at 11:00am on Thursday October 8, 2015 at St. James UCC 13312 Pioneer Rd. Newton, WI (Spring Valley) with Rev. William Kesting officiating. Family and friends may call at the Meiselwitz-Vollstedt Funeral Home in Kiel on Wednesday October 7, 2015 from 4:00pm until 7:00pm and at the church on Thursday from 9:00am until 10:45am when there will be last family rites before the service. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.

Memorials in Addison's name may be directed to Amazing Grace Equine Sanctuary (a safe haven for horses in need), Children's Hospital, St. James UCC, Kiel Cooperative Preschool or the John Michael Kohler Arts Center.

A special thank you to all of the service organizations who provided help and to all of those who have sent prayers and support.
