He was born in Oregon, Wis., and moved here in 1974 from Madison, Wis., where he was a service driver for the University of Wisconsin. He was an Army veteran of World War II and fought in the Battle of the Bulge. He was Catholic and a member of VFW Post 4256, Madeira Beach.
Survivors include a daughter, Diane Purdum, St. Petersburg; a stepson, David Wesley, Madison; a stepdaughter, Margorie Dahl, St. Petersburg; eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
