Sarah Angeline Sides Asbury, age 77 of Abilene, Texas passed away Saturday October 3, 2015 in Abilene, Texas.

Visitation and reception will be held at Elmwood Funeral Home on Tuesday, October 6, 2015 from 5:00 to 7:00 pm. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, October 7, at Grace Lutheran Church. Burial will follow at Elmwood Funeral Memorial Park in Abilene, Texas.

Sarah was born on February 4, 1938 in Abilene,Texas to Arthur Clarendon and Lucy Graham Sides.

Sarah attended Southern Methodist University and graduated from The University of Texas in Austin with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Home Economics with a specialized focus on Interior Design. She married and travelled with her family overseas for the next 15 years establishing a loving and solid home for her family everywhere they settled. She volunteered in various organizations and touched the lives of all she encountered. Her legacy is her love for her family and friends. She lead by her example.

She worked as an Interior Designer in California and Abilene. She was a valued employee of Dillard's of Abilene before retiring at age 65. Sarah was a talented artist and especially loved creating original and beautiful pieces for family and friends. She was an active member at Grace Lutheran Church and volunteered her time in beautification of the grounds and alter flowers and communion service.

Sarah loved all God's creatures and was caretaker to many throughout her lifetime.

Survivors include daughter Katherine Asbury Hardee and her husband Steve Hardee of St Croix, USVI and daughter Jennifer Christine Asbury of Abilene; Aunt Verna Graham of Richland Hills, Texas and cousins Sammy Rae Broyles and the family of Bill Sides; granddaughters Anne Katherine Hardee, Sarah Angeline Hardee and grandson Steven Christian Hardee.

Flowers are welcomed, or should you choose in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Grace Lutheran Church of Abilene, Texas, The National Stroke Organization and the American Humane Association in honor of Sarah's life and passions.
