Hatfield, Sandra McElman 64, of Tucson, AZ, formerly of Chelmsford, MA, passed away Saturday evening, May 2, 2015. Born in Weymouth, MA, she was the daughter of the late Mr. Donald E. and the late Mrs. Patricia A. McElman. She graduated from Lexington High School, where she met her husband Mr. Stephen Lawrence Hatfield of Chelmsford, MA. Sandy graduated from Adelphi University and held many jobs, most notably for 17 years at Boston University in medical research. She moved to Tucson, AZ in 2010 and worked for the University of Arizona. She led a very active lifestyle of bicycling, rowing, and swimming, making many friends along the way. She is survived by her husband, Stephen, a son Brian Hatfield and his wife Emily Campbell of Cambridge, MA, a son Terry Hatfield of Boston, MA, a sister Catherine and her husband Ed Sousa of Brooks, ME and a brother, Donald Jr. and his wife Leslie McElman of Milford, MA. A celebration of Sandy's life will be held on Saturday, June 27, 2015 at 11AM at the Pine Grove Cemetery, Forge Village Rd., Westford, MA with a reception to follow. Donations can be made to Americans for Responsible Solutions.
