Les was born on February 14, 1935, in Sac County, IA, on the family farm north of Carnarvon, IA, to Herman and Tollie (Meyers) Peters. He was baptized on the 8th day of September, 1935 at the Carnarvon Presbyterian Church. He attended a small country school outside Lake View and Lake View High School.

He was married to Lucille Ernst and they were the parents of five children: Danny, Linda, Dennis, Ron, and Keith. They later divorced.

Les worked in construction and was an over the road truck driver until he retired. He enjoyed fishing, riding horses and hunting in his younger years. Les was united in marriage to Kandis “Kandi” Leah Reinhart. They made their home in rural Breda. Les loved spending time with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Survivors include his wife, Kandi; children: Linda (Chad) Nelson of Cody, WY, Dennis (companion Susan) Peters of Lake View, Ron (Karla) Peters of Sac City, and Keith (companion Kathy Holm) of Lake City; 15 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren. Other survivors include his sister Betty Rohlff of Nebraska; many nieces, nephews and extended family members and friends.

Les was preceded in death by his parents Herman and Tollie Peters; son Danny; brothers: Kenny and Leonard; and sister Darlene.
