Paul served as a Technical Sergeant, Company B, 179th Infantry, 45th Infantry Division, U.S. Army during World War II.

He resided in Nassau County, New York prior to the war.

He enlisted in the Army on February 10, 1942 at Camp Upton, Yaphank, New York. He was noted, at the time of his enlistment, as being employed as a Stock Clerk and also as Single, without dependents.

Paul was "Killed In Action" near the Tiber River in Italy during the war. He was awarded the Purple Heart.

He was originally interred in Nettuno, Italy and his remains were later shipped back to the United States on the S.S. Carroll Victory. He was repatriated here at Northwood Cemetery in August, 1948.
