Virgil R Peterson, 74, of Redwood Falls, died Saturday, July 31, 1999 at the University of Minnesota Hospital in Minneapolis.
Services will be 1:30pm Tuesday, at the Nelson Funeral Home in Redwood Falls.
Visitation will be 4-8pm today at the funeral home and will continue on Tuesday from 9am until service time.
He is survived by his wife, Betty sons, Lowell and wife LeAnn of Redwood Falls and Steven and wife Stephanie of Mound three grandchildren a brother, Wilton and wife Ethel of Shakopee, and sisters, Elaine Stromvall of Plymouth and Joan Kladifko and husband George of Minneapolis. He was preceded in death by his parents.
He was born Sep 24, 1924 in Meeker County, the son of Robert and Hulda (Jordin) Peterson. He resided with his family in Meeker County, attending Litchfield High School and graduating in 1942.
He married Betty Lenhard on Oct 14, 1950 in Litchfield They resided in Litchfield until 1969 when they moved to Redwood Falls. Virgil was in implement and automotive parts sales and owned the NAPA Auto Parts in Redwood Falls until retirement in 1983. He did antique and wicker restoration until 1998.
He served during WWII in the Army, serving in the Pacific and Japan. He was past Commander of the Litchfield VFW and a member of the Redwood Falls American Legion. He was a past member of the Redwood Falls Lions and Eagles.
