Mark McCabe, 56, of Limestone, passed away Sunday (Sept. 27, 2015) at his home.

He was born Nov. 23, 1958, in Kankakee, the son of Thomas and Marjorie Ann (Papke) McCabe. Mark married Bette Behm on June 26, 1982, in Kankakee.

He had worked at Riverside Medical Center for four years as an X-ray tech; Birmingham Bolt and Strandco in sales for six years. Mark ran Danny's Planes and Trains store and was a member of the Joliet Union Local 150 for Heavy Equipment Operators. He was an avid Chicago Cubs, Blackhawks and Bears sports enthusiast. Mark's hobby was model trains. He belonged to the Kankakee Area Model Railroad Club, where he was currently the vice president, and volunteered a lot of time at the Kankakee Railroad Museum. Mark enjoyed spending time with his family and playing a good game of euchre.

Surviving are his wife, of Limestone; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Jacob (Jeff) McCabe, of Orland Park, and Michael (Samantha) McCabe, of Bradley; two sisters, Marian McCabe, of Kankakee, and Suzanne McCabe, of Kankakee; two brothers, William (Kathy) McCabe, of Bourbonnais, and Steve and (Coleen) McCabe, of Limestone. Also surviving are two grandchildren, Leah and Morgan McCabe.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation will be from 3:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Schreffler Funeral Homes, Kankakee Chapel. Burial will be in Limestone Cemetery at a later date.
