Bessie Viola Harmon, 88-year-old resident of Colcord, Okla., died November 6, 2002 at Quail Ridge Nursing Home, West Siloam Springs. Born April 10, 1914 in Delaware County, she was the daughter of Thomas Price Sims and Linda Bryant Sims. She was a retired poultry inspector for the U.S. Dept. of Agriculture and was a member of Missionary Baptist Church of Colcord. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bryan Harmon. Survivors include: three sons, Donald L. Harmon of Maryland, and Delmar Harmon and James T. Harmon, both of Colcord; two daughters, Mary Lou Brown of Casper, Wyo., and Shirley Wilmoth of Colcord; 16 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; and one sister, Lois Pebaworth of Oklahoma City, Okla. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, November 11, at Colcord Community Center with Rev. Ralph Walker and Mr. Larry Ellis officiating. Burial will follow at Row Cemetery. Mrs. Harmon will be in state from 1 to 8 p.m. Sunday, November 10, with family present from 3 to 4 p.m., at Wasson Funeral Home, Siloam Springs, Ark. Arrangements are under the direction of Wasson Funeral Home, Siloam Springs.
