DAUGHERTY - Lon Daugherty, son of William and Elma Dugherty, was born July 25, 1884 and departed this life May 23, 1969 at the age 84 years, 1o months and 28 days.
He was uninted in marriage February 23, 1906 to Grace Pennington.
To this union five children were born, surviving are his wife Grace of Chariton, two daughters, Evelyn Smith of Chariton and one son Rev. L.A. Daugherty of Des Moines.
Two daughters preceded him in death, Mrs. Gertie Leach and Miss Pearl Daugherty.
Three sisters, Mary Benway of Melcher, Gladys Endsley of St. Joseph, Maude Stoneking of Chariton, and one brother Stanley Daugherty of Lacona survive.
Twelve grandchildren and twenty-six great-grandchildrenbesides nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
Most of his life was spent in farming until the last 7 years in Chariton in retirement.
He accepted Jesus Christ as his Savior and was a member of Christian Union Church.
He had been in failing health the past few years.
He will be sorly missed by all who knew him.

Rev. Pearl Same had charge of services, burial in Norwood.
