Katchig is survived by one son, Gary Abrahamian; five daughters, Tonette Burlison, Terri Abrahamian, Sandra Aldridge, Patti Elder, Christy Adams; 20 grandchildren, and 25 great-grandchildren.
He was the supervisor of the Hopewell City Garage and retired after 30 years of dedicated service, loved doing yard work and his grandchildren were the apple of his eye. He will be sorely missed by everyone who knew him.
Mike will rest in the funeral home chapel from Saturday, July 18, to Monday, July 20, 2015. The family will receive friends from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday July 19, 2015, at Memorial Funeral Home, 214 N. 6th Ave., Hopewell. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, July 21, 2015, in the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow in Appomattox Cemetery.
