SALTVILLE, Va. Laura Kate "Dottie" Stephens, age 84, passed away at her home Thursday, October 1, 2015. Dottie was a great and loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend who loved life to the fullest. She was preceded in death by her parents, Wrightly and Bessie Dockery; step mother, Beulah Dockery; two sons, Wayne and Wendell Stephens; daughter, Marylyn Lane; several brothers and sisters; and companion, John Williams. She is survived by her son, Kelly (Denise) Lane of Kingsport, Tenn.; two daughters, Delores (Jerry) Mitchell of Saltville, Va., and Tina Stephens of Saltville, Va.; three brothers, Jimmy (Sharon) Dockery of Kingsport, Tenn., Freddie (Jewel) Dockery of Dungannon, Va., and Bo (Doretta) Dockery of Dungannon, Va.; four sisters, Phyllis (Michael) Grizzle of Lebanon, Va., Barbara (James) Hubbard of Dungannon, Va., JoAnn Grizzle of Dungannon, Va., and Donna (Herb) McCoy of Dungannon, Va.; nine grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, one great great grandchild, and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday, October 5, 2015, at Henderson Funeral Home with the Rev. Ray Wolford officiating. Burial will follow in the Elizabeth Cemetery.
