She was the daughter of the late Connie T. and Lillian Marie Davenport Carawan [Davidson]. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Archie W. Matthews and brother, Rolfe L. Carawan. She was a devoted mother and wife. Survivors include her children, Jeanette Narron and Connie Matthews; grandchildren, Mike and Chris; five great - grandchildren; brother, Jimmy Carawan; sister, Carol Horne.
A memorial service was Thursday, October 1, 2015 at the Great Bridge Chapel of Oman Funeral Home, 653 Cedar Road, Chesapeake, VA 23322.
