Stephen Stanley Mills was born January 19, 1940 in Detroit, Michigan to the late Alease Bowens and George Mills. He graduated from Western High School, Detroit, MI 1959. He later joined the United States Air Force in 1960 and was discharged in 1962. He then met Ella Mae Spearman and were married in January 1963, where they resided in McLain, MS. Seven children were born into this union. Stephen was employed by Delta Pines in Beaumont, MS for several years.
Stephen was known as a loving husband, father and friend. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He truly loved by his family and will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him.
He is proceeded in death by his son Darrick Mills, mother Alease Bowens, father George Mills and brother Richard R. Mills.
Stephen leaves to cherish his precious memories, his loving wife Ella Mae Mills, six children, David Mills, Terry (Tamisha) Mills, Markeith (Barbara) Mills, Darnell Mills, Karen McLaurin and Casaundra McLaurin all of McLain, MS. Two brothers, Larry (Anne Marie) Mills Sr. and Curtis (Josephine) Mills, three sisters Janice Ashford, Marylin Mills all of Detroit, MI and Marcialyn Davis from Huston, TX, 38 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, one favorite granddaughter (like a daughter) Nicole, five devoted friends, Lee Woods Jr., George Lee Lawrence, Vone Witt, Sister Vernell Hartfield and Deacon Hartfield, and a host of nieces nephews, cousins and friends.

Special thanks to Deaconess Home Care, Forrest General Hospital and Richton Dialysis for taking good care of Stephen Mills.

2 Timothy 4:7-8
I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.

Visitation will be Wednesday, September 9, 2015 at 10 am to 11:00 am at the McLain Church of God in Christ 101 Brown Street, McLain, MS. Funeral will follow at 11:00 am.

Internment: McLain Cemetery
