Clara L. (Rinehart) Scott, 94, died at 7:36 a.m. on Wednesday, September 30, 2015 in Marion General Hospital. She was born on May 31, 1921 in Marion, Indiana to the late James and Elizabeth (Teegarden) Leaming. Due to her parents' early death, Clara was raised in the home of Frank and May Fisher Teegarden.
Clara married D. Elmer Rinehart on July 18, 1941. He died on December 24, 1952. She then married Doyle B. Scott in 1967. He passed away on August 14, 2000.
Clara was a graduate of the former Lincolnville High School, Wabash County and the former Warner School of Beauty Culture, Ft. Wayne, IN. She owned and operated Clara's Beauty Shop in Marion for 66 years. Clara was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene for over 60 years.
She is survived by three children, Sondra J. (David) Wood, David E. (Gloria) Rinehart, MaryAnn Rinehart, all of Marion; step-daughter, Linda (Ronald) Burt, Florida; 6 grandchildren, David A. (Kelly) Wood, Jeff (Sherry) Wood, Stephen M. Wood, Ann Marie (Wes) Ward, David Eric (Eden) Rinehart, Dustin (Danielle) Rinehart; 8 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; and 2 step-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and 2 husbands, Clara was preceded in death by an aunt and uncle; and 5 brothers and 4 sisters.
Funeral services for Clara will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 3, 2015 at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Avenue, Marion, IN with Pastor Greg Clark officiating. Burial will be in Estates of Serenity, Marion.
