He was a longtime resident of Hibbing. Robert was a veteran of war, achieving the rank of first lieutenant. He served during World War II and the Korean War. He was employed as an automotive electrician for Horn's Auto Electric in Hibbing. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Hibbing and the American Legion Hibbing Post. He was an avid enthusiast of motorcycles.
Robert is survived by his wife Dorothy; sisters-in-law: Audrey Schweiger, Marjory Desmarais, Shirley (Ken) Miller, and Adeline Korpi; nephews, cousins, and his very special friends that were like family to him, Mary and Vern Vavra and their children, Mathew, Rebecca, Katie and Andrea.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Interment was in the Maple Hill Cemetery, Hibbing.
