Jean Cox Owens age 80, of Lithia Springs passed away after a long battle of Alzheimer’s disease on September 30, 2015.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Howard and Frances Seay; late husband, Henry L. Cox; her son Matthew Grady Cox; and sister Delores Satterfield.
She is survived by her husband Carl L. Owens; three daughters, Connie Statham of Austell, Donna Kilgore of Kingston, and Susan Daniel of Powder Springs; her son, Ronnie Cox of Powder Springs; her siblings, Carolyn Mauldin of Powder Springs, and Roger Seay of Mableton; her granddaughter, Paige Watson of Bowdon; three grandsons, Justin Cox of Douglasville, Nicholas Daniel and Adam Daniel of Powder Springs; her great grandson Henry Watson of Bowdon; and many nieces, nephews, step-children and their families.
Jean Cox Owens worked in environmental services at Wellstar Cobb General hospital from 1986 until her retirement in 2002. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, October 2, 2015 at Davis-Struempf Chapel with a visitation before the service from 12:00 - 2:00 p.m. Family will receive friend’s Thursday, October 1, 2015 from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Davis-Struempf Funeral Home.
