BLACKSHEAR ‹ Sharon Diane Boyett Roberson, 56, passed away early Friday morning (Aug. 11, 2006) at St. Luke's Hospital in Jacksonville following a short illness.

Born in Wayne County, GA she had lived in Pierce County, GA and Hilton Head, S.C. for many years before moving back to Pierce County 10 years ago.

She was a 1967 graduate of Patterson High School and was also a graduate of the LPN program at Ware Tech. She attended Armstrong State College in Savannah and received her nursing degree from the University of South Carolina Nursing Program. She worked at the local hospital in Hilton Head and at Care One in Waycross. At the time of her death, she was director of Nursing at the D. Ray James State Prison in Folkston. She was a member of the Kiwanis Club and was a daughter of the late LaForest Mulkey Boyett.

Survivors are her husband, Gordon Edward Roberson, of Blackshear; her father, Calvin Boyett and Juan Anderson, of Patterson; four sisters and brothers-in-law, Carol and Gary Murray and Charlotte and Russell Thornton, both of Blackshear, Karen and Ray Crosby, of Mershon, and Michelle and Blaine Deal, of Patterson; six brothers and five sisters-in-law, Buddy and Dena Boyett, of Laurel, Miss., Malcolm and Tammy Boyett, Joseph and Pam Boyett and David Boyett, all of Patterson, Kelvin and Jan Boyett, of Columbus, and Tim and Rachel Boyett, of Hortense; three sisters-in-law, Eula Peeler, of Brunswick, Melvina Pittman, of Waycross, and Geraldine Cox, of Patterson; a brother-in-law, William D. Roberson, of Utah, and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Funeral will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at Pine Grove Baptist Church.

Interment will be in the Laura Chapel Cemetery.

Visitation will be Sunday evening from 6 until 9 at the funeral home. The body will lie in state at the church one hour prior to the service. Members of the medical staff of D Ray James State Prison are asked to serve as honorary pallbearers and should meet at the church by 10:30 Monday morning. Memorials may be made to Hospice Satilla, 1921 Alice St., Suite A-1, Waycross, Ga. 31501. Sympathy may be expressed by signing the online register at www.pearsontreadwell.com.
