Michael Frederick Petersen, 73, of Bremerton, Washington died on September 16, 2015 at the Washington State Veterans Home in Retsil, Washington.
Michael, was born on September 24th, 1941 in Iowa City, Iowa to George Edward and June Evelyn (Fredricks) Petersen. His known siblings are SAusan K., and George Petersen.
He married Joanne Carol (Boddy) Horn on March 24, 1971, at that time Michael took on a new role as Dad to three young children of Joanne, Karrie, Kenneth and Susan, providing love and guidance to them throughout their lives. In 1973, Michael and Joanne were blessed with a Daughter, June. June was his pride and his joy. He was a wonderful, nurturing Father, and a Daddy's guiding hand throughout her life.
During Mike and Joanne's 44 years of marriage they spent their time enjoying each other's company, whether it was hunting, fishing, taking road trips or simply sitting and talking. They never tired of each other's company and their relationship was filled with humor, love and laughter.
A 100% disabled Veteran, Mike proudly devoted 22 years of service to the United States Navy as a Machinist Mate and gave it his all, retiring as a Machinist Mate Chief.
In addition to his Wife and Children, Mike leaves behind a Sister, Susan and Grandchildren Brandon, Jacob, James, Kelly, Rachael, Melanie, Carina and Matthew. Other Children include Brandon, April, Chanelle , James and nine Great Grandchildren.
