CHICOPEE – Mary L. (Snape) Fournier, 79, of Chicopee, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 29, 2015, at Mercy Hospital with her loving family by her side.
She was born Dec. 27, 1935, in Northampton, to the late Albert D. and Mabel (Cummings) Snape. Mary had attended Northampton schools and had worked at various manufacturing businesses in the area.
She enjoyed sewing, crocheting and making ceramics. Mary loved country music and dancing and she was always the life of the party. She enjoyed her camping trips to various states. But most of all, she adored her grand kids, whom were her world. Mary will be deeply missed by her family, grand kids and friends.
She is survived by her husband Robert of Chicopee; her daughters Lola Stone and her husband Gary of Whately, and Sheila Kajka and her husband Joseph of Southampton; her sons George Blais and his wife Denise of Easthampton, and Richard Blais and his wife Teresa of Whately; 10 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; her brother Richard Snape and his wife Sondra of Huntington; her sisters June Anderson of Kentucky, and Dottie Charsky of Hadley; and several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, Mary was predeceased by her siblings Barbara Beals and Dennis Snape.
The memorial service will be private. Burial will take place in St. Mary's Cemetery in Northampton.
