Alex died in the Bruce Peninsulas and District Memorial Hospital. Born in Minto Tp in 1871. He was the son of Mr. & Mrs. Simpson Hepburn. He came to the Bruce as a boy with his parents and farmed there for 50 years, at the same time doing veterinary work, and was also postmaster of Hope Bay during that time for 40 years. Mr. Hepburn served as councilor for Eastnor Township for 16 years.
