C.C. McDonald, Jr.
Carl C. "C.C." McDonald, Jr., born July 8, 1924, passed away on Saturday, September 26, 2015.
The son of Katrina Overall McDonald and C.C. McDonald, Sr., Mr. McDonald was a life-long member of Main Street United Methodist Church in Bay St. Louis.
He was a charter member of the Bay-Waveland Yacht Club and the Pass Christian Isles Golf Club; and a long-time member of the Hancock County Library Foundation Board of Directors.
While attending Bay High School, he was the state champion Golden Glove boxer in his weight category and earned the title "Mr. Bay High."
Mr. McDonald was a graduate of Mississippi State University, earning his degree in Civil Engineering, and worked as a general contractor in Bay St. Louis, building many landmark businesses and homes in the region, many of which withstood Hurricane Camille, and some even withstood Hurricane Katrina.
He was an avid story-teller, golfer and fisherman, and was on the first-ever sailing team from Bay-Waveland Yacht Club to win a race in the Lipton Cup Regatta. He also served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
He was preceded in death by his parents, C.C. and Katrina McDonald; and his three brothers, David N. McDonald, Fred S. McDonald and James C. McDonald.
Survivors include his wife, Eve McDonald; their daughter Wendy McDonald and her husband Henry Winters; son André McDonald and his wife Jeanne; grandchildren Jessica Bilotta (Aaron), Amy LaRue (Errol), Ryan Rupp (Crissy), James McDonald and Emily McDonald; Christia Lamb and Katherine Lamb Weingart; and great-grandchildren Annabelle and Hunter Bilotta, Maisy La Rue, and Rylen Hunt and AnnaClaire Rupp and Duncan and Ellis Weingart.
Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. on Thursday, October 1, 2015, at Main Street United Methodist Church in Bay St. Louis.
Funeral services will begin at 10:30 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family prefers donations to Main Street United Methodist Church or the Hancock County Library Foundation.
