Obituary of HELEN LOUISE CROSBY PORTER
Mrs. Porter Dies
Daughter of Mr. and Mrs. E.H. Crosby, of Topeka
Word was received in Topeka yesterday of the death of Mrs. Richard D. Porter, wife of Captain Porter, formerly of the 130th field artillary, who died yesterday in Colorado Springs, Colorado, where she had been residing for the last year.
Mrs. Porter was formerly Miss Helen Louis Crosby, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. E.H. Crosby, and prominent in Topeka society circles.
Mrs. Porter was born in Topeka in 1894.
She attended Bethany College and later graduated from the Dana Hall college in Wellesley, Massachusetts.
She was married to Captain Porter two years ago, shortly before he left with his regiment for overseas.
Besides her husband, she is survived by her parents, and a brother, C.B. Crosby, all of Topeka. Arrangements for the funeral have not been completed. The body will arrive in Topeka Saturday morning.

Daughter of E.H. Crosby Was in Hospital in Colorado.
Death came to Mrs. Richard Porter, formerly Helen Louise Crosby, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. E.H. Crosby this morning in Colorado Springs where she and Mr. Porter have been living for the last year.
Mrs. Porter, who was born in 1894 had lived in Topeka all of her life until she went to Colorado.
She attended Bethany and after graduating there was in school at Dana Hll in Wellesley, Massachusetts, where she was graduated in 1913.
She was married two years ago to Richard Porter.
She has been ill for several months.
Mrs. Porter is survived by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. E.H. Crosby, her brother, Mr. C.B. Crosby, and Mr. Porter.
The body will be brought to Topeka Saturday morning. Definite arrangements for the funeral had not been made late this afternoon.
Mrs. Porter was prominent in Topeka society and was a woman of talent and ability and was one of the most popular young matrons of the city.

Private Services at Topeka Cemetery Monday Afternoon.
The funeral of Mrs. Richard Porter, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. E.H. Crosby, who died 20 November at Colorado Springs, will be held from the Crosby residence, 903 Harrison street, Monday afternoon at 3 o’clock. The burial services at Topeka cemetery will be private.
