Vickie, as she was known by family and friends, was born in Lewes on June 22, 1952, to the late Charles and Alberta Johnson Gibbs.
Vickie attended Cape Henlopen schools and graduated, furthering her education and receiving her masters degree.
Vickie worked for the DuPont Co. in Wilmington for the past 36 years.
She was associated and became a member of the Alpha Worship Center in Newark since 2006. Vickie received several diplomas from the church of the Living and Bible Institute. She was active with the Junior achievement program, and had numerous programs she supported with her co-workers at the DuPont Co.
Survivors include her daughter, Ka-tina L. Henry; two grandchildren. Shannon Henry II and Kristina Victoria Henry; seven sisters, Ethel Johnson, Patricia Hanzer, Grace-leane Gibbs-Tabler, Kathlean Gibbs-Grandison, Wanda Witherspoon, Tecola Gibbs, and Charlotte Gibbs; and six brothers, Harold Johnson, Joseph Gibbs, Clifton Gibbs, Tyrone Gibbs, Wayne Gibbs, and Thomas Gibbs.
Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at St. George AME Church, 317 Park Ave., Lewes. The Rev. Emanuel L. Lambert Sr. will officiate. Friends may call at the church Friday evening from 6 to 8 and on Saturday two hours before the service.
