CHARLES ELMER JOHNSON

Charles Elmer Johnson, age 89 of Harrison, passed away on Tuesday, December 28, 2006 at his home in Harrison. He was born the son of Paul Fodge and Ida May (Brant) Johnson of February 14, 1917 in Huntington, Indiana. Charles was united in marriage to the former Florence Troschinetz on September 13, 1939 in Detroit, Michigan. Mr. Johnson served in the United States Army during Workd War II. Charles served as a Trustee for Hayes Township for ten years. In his spare time, he enjoyed hunting, gardening, watching Jeopardy and raising Shi Tzus. He had lived in the Harrison area since 1978 where he had moved from Bangor, Michigan.

Surviving are his loving wife, Florence Johnson of Harrison; one son, Charles Johnson and wife Gail of Bethpage, Tennessee; two daughters, Darlene Domen and husband Fred of Covina, California and Helen Sego and husband Robert of Columbus, Ohio; one brother, Walter Johnson and wife Lois of Globes, Michigan; fifteen grandchildren, twenty-three great-grandchildren, plus numerous nieces and nephews. Mr. Johnson was preceded in death by his parents one sister, Mary (Brant) Murray and five brothers: Richard, Donald, Carl, James and Robert.

In keeping with Charles' wishes, cremation has taken place. Memorial services were held ;on Tuesday, January2, 2007 at 3:00 p.m. from the Stocking Funeral Home with Pastor Marion Hall officiating. Military honors were held in his honor under the coordination of the Harrison American Legion Post #404. Memorial contributions in memory of Mr. Johnson may be considered to MidMichigan Hospice.
