Cleo B. Mitchell, 90, of Mishawaka, died Sunday September 27, 2015 at Heritage Point. The Lutts, TN native was born November 10, 1944 to Elihue & Bertha (Johnson) Berry. Cleo married S.J. Mitchell on February 13, 1943. She was a teacher in Tennessee, having taught grades 1-8 in a one room schoolhouse called the Rose School. A local resident since 1953, Cleo was a member of Southside General Baptist Church; enjoyed gardening & flowers, especially roses, walking & doing aerobics, working & keeping active. She was retired, having worked at Uniroyal & Remote Control. In addition to her parents, Cleo was also preceded in death by S.J. Mitchell, Sr., her husband of 52 years and by 2 brothers & 4 sisters. She is survived by her children, Beverly (Daniel) Howard of Granger, Sheila Boehnlein of Edwardsburg MI and S.J. (Mary) Mitchell, Jr. of Bedford TX; her sister, Dorothy Shaw of Waynesboro TN; 7 grandchildren & 5 great-grandchildren. Funeral Services 2:00 Thursday at Chapel Hill Funeral Home, 10776 McKinley Hwy. where friends may call one hour prior to services. Calling also from 6-8pm Wednesday in the funeral home.
