Our beloved friend and colleague Attorney Caleb Leroy Nichols, 67, of Erie, Pa., departed this life on July 17, 2015.

Caleb was born in Southhampton County, Virginia, on October 19, 1947, to the late Alfred Manry and Sylvia Young Nichols.

He received his professional education at Norfolk State University, The University of Connecticut and Georgetown University Law.

He served in the United States Coast Guard as a JAG Officer, taught law at Western Connecticut State University and held a private law practice in Erie, Pennsylvania.

Along with his parents, Caleb was preceded in death by two brothers: George Alfred Nichols (Rose) and James Nichols (Shirley).

Caleb leaves behind to cherish his memory four siblings. He also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Funeral services were held in Boykins, Va., on August 1, 2015, A community memorial service to celebrate his remarkable life is being planned for Friday, August 7th at 5:30 p.m., at Law Funeral Home, at 29th and Pine Ave., Erie, PA 16504.
