John D. Asbury (David) passed away Monday, September 28, 2015 at his home in Pratt, Kansas. He was born in Wichita, Kansas, September 16, 1943, the son of John Jesse and Pauline (Metz) Asbury.
David grew up in Sterling, Kansas. He married Jeanne Routh on March 2, 1963 in Hutchinson, Kansas.
He is survived by his wife Jeanne of the home; daughters Traci (Steve) Gridley and Kimberly (Terry) Tritt all of Pratt; brothers Bill (RuthAnn) Asbury of Lyons and Kevin (Tammy) Asbury of Edmond, Oklahoma; sisters Pam Yeakel of Rock Rapids, Iowa, Pat (Larry) Sullivan of Overland Park, Kansas and Lana (Bob) Wilkey of Pratt; his very special Aunt Vivan (Bibo) Brim of Cetreville, Virginia; grandchildren Zachary Powers, Alexandra Powers and Cole Gridley; Great-Grandsons Darian and Jayce Rhoades; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Dennis Asbury.
Cremation has taken place.
Memorial Service will be 11:00 a.m., Thursday, October 1, 2015 at Larrison Mortuary, 300 Country Club Road, Pratt with family friend Richard Partington presiding.
Inurnment will take place at a later date at Trinity Cemetery, Hudson, Kansas.
Memorials may be made to Interim Healthcare and Hospice, Pratt Area Humane Society, or Lemon Park Lights in care of the mortuary.
