Clyde was born to parents Dudley and Louise Van Cleve in Osakis, MN on September 3, 1923. After graduating from Osakis High School in 1941, Clyde joined the Navy and served in both European and Pacific Ocean theaters. He married Helen Neal in 1945. Clyde spent several years as a building contractor and then became an electrical engineer. He worked at KPLO, Chamberlin, SD, KCMT, Alexandria, MN, KNMT, Hackensack, MN and retired from WDAY in Fargo, ND.
Clyde was an active amateur radio operator, an avid woodworker and enjoyed spoiling his grandchildren. He was a member of Masonic Lodge for 70 years most recently Lodge 156 Wadena MN.
He was preceded in death by his wife Helen; brother Wayne and sisters Eleanor Homeland, Marjorie Sorlie and Eloise Van Cleve.

Visitation Wednesday, September 30th, 2015 from noon to 1:00 p.m. followed by a 1:00 p.m. Memorial Service at Community Presbyterian Church in West Fargo.
