2005 obituary. COLE, JOHN H., M.D., died suddenly Wednesday, October 5, 2005 in Harpswell, ME. Jack was born in South Paris, Maine on July 10, 1921 to Richard Guy and Ivy (Edser) Cole. He was predeceased by his parents and his two sisters, Wilda Ramsay and Lucille Gilliam. Jack graduated from South Paris High School in 1939 and from Maine Central Institute in 1940. After serving in the Army Air Corps in England in World War II, Jack returned to Bates College. He met Dorothy Strout. They celebrated their 59th anniversary on September 21, 2005. He continued his education at Tufts Medical School in Boston with his internship and residency at Maine Medical in Portland and practiced in Madison, Maine until deciding to specialize in anesthesiology, The family moved to Orlando, Florida from Portland, Maine in 1957. Jack was a Board Certified Anesthesiologist in Orlando until retiring after 30 years. Many of those years were at Holiday Hospital, at times serving as Chief of Anesthesia. He was a member of the Cathedral Church of St. Luke where he served on the Chapter. He was also a member of the American Medical Association, the Florida Medical Association, the American Society of Anesthesiologists, the Florida Society of Anesthesiologists, the Orange County Medical Association, the Country Club of Orlando and the Grand Lodge of Maine, Paris Lodge #94.The Memorial Service will be held on October 22, 2005 at 11AM at the Cathedral Church of St. Luke, Orlando, FL.
