James Brumfield, 89 of Brenton passed away Tuesday, September 22, 2015.

Born June 9, 1926 at Pembroke, VA the son of the late Courtland Marion Brumfield (Deceased) and Grace Mae Mullens-Brumfield (Deceased).

Mr. Brumfield was a member of the Amigo Missionary Baptist Church. He was a member of the UMWA, served in the US Army, was an avid hunter and loved his church and reading his Bible.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two sons, James Nolan Brumfield (Deceased) and David Dean Brumfield (Deceased); two infants, Ronald Brumfield (Deceased) and Nancy Brumfield (Deceased); and brothers, Porter Brumfield (Deceased), Billy Brumfield (Deceased) and Lewis Brumfield (Deceased).

Survivors include his wife, Glenna "Faye" Belcher-Brumfield (B. 1928), a resident of McDowell County Nursing and Rehabilitation, Gary, WV, whom he married on November 23, 1946 in Pineville, Wyoming County, WV (per WV Marriage License Register, Wyoming County, WV, 1946, Page 195, Application Date: November 21, 1946); two sons, Donald Brumfield of Turkey Dip and Dallas Brumfield of Williamson; three daughters, Peggy Brumfield-Belcher and husband, Johnny Belcher of Pineville; Sheila Brumfield-Smith of Pineville and Charlotte Brumfield-Hawk of OH; three sisters, Juanita Brumfield-Green of MD, Shelby Brumfield-Pelfrey of OH and Shirley Brumfield-Hatten of MD; grandchildren: Mike Belcher, Heather Belcher, Faith Wright, Glenna Rose, Garrett Birchfield, Kayla Hawk, Kori Hawk and Jennifer Brumfield; and nine great-grandchildren.

A graveside service will be conducted on Saturday, September 26, 2015 at 1:00 PM at Brumfield Family Cemetery on 1856 Skin Fork Road in Brenton, WV.
