Funeral Services for Dena Faye Thompson, 59, of Wilson, are scheduled for 2 p.m., Monday, September 28, 2015, at Alexander Funeral Home Chapel of Wilson with the Rev. Jason Williams officiating. Interment will follow at the Hewitt Cemetery in Wilson.
Dena was born June 29,1956, at Pauls Valley, Okla., to the late R.K. Thompson and Eva β€œFaye” (Glenn) Thompson. She departed this life Wednesday September 23, 2015, in Ardmore.
Dena was raised in Wilson, living there most of her life. She graduated from Wilson High School in 1974. After graduating, Dena worked at Stromberg-Carlson in Gene Autry for many years. She later attended nursing school at Murray State University and became a registered nurse. Dena worked as a nurse at several healthcare facilities in the area, lastly working as the director of nurses for Elmbrook Nursing Home. She loved spending time with her daughter, Mindy and her grandchildren.
Preceding her in death was her parents and an infant stillborn brother who passed away in 1955.
Survivors include her daughter, Mindy McDaniel and husband, Danny of Lone Grove; two grandchildren, Makaylah and Miranda McDaniel; brothers, Ronny Thompson of Bellevue, Wash., and Phillip Thompson of Wilson; numerous other family and friends.
Casket bearers are Bruce Williams, Eric Gaines, David Thompson, Donnie Clayburn, and Justin Cheek.
Family visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. today at Alexander Funeral Home in Wilson.
