Hettie Melissa Lenox was the daughter of John and Hetty Stephens Lenox. She was raised on the Lenox farm on Hardin Pike in Auglaize County. She married Henry Bilter 28 Nov 1877 in Auglaize County. They had four children: Amanda, Mayme, Inez and Charlie. She was known in the family as "Little Aunt Hettie". She loved cooking, kids and her Rhode Island Reds. Her famous sugar cookie recipe remains in the family.
