Mrs. Catherine Elizabeth Rogers Nicholson, of Blairsville, passed away Sunday, September 27, 2015 at the Union County Nursing Home. Catherine was of the Methodist faith and a member of Bray Church. She enjoyed traveling and had visited all the states in the Union, except for Alaska. She brought fun and laughter with her wherever she went. She delighted in watching her grandchildren grow and often carried them with her on special trips. Catherine was the "Team Granny" to many as she watched the grandchildren in sports. Catherine enjoyed people and worked at Brasstown Bald as an Older American with the U.S. Forest Service after her retirement from Lakewood Fashions. She was born on October 3, 1929 in Atlanta but resided in her ancestral home in Union County for most of her life.
Catherine was preceded in death by her mother and father, Edward and Callie (Brackett) Rogers; husband, Edward Nicholson; son, Tommy Turner.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, September 30, 2015 from the Chapel of Cochran Funeral Home of Blairsville. Interment will be held at the New Blairsville Cemetery.
