9/27/15 Our beautiful Mom passed away three days ago. It was so unexpected. Our hearts are in a million pieces, we are so lost. I can't believe she is on Find a Grave now. I was just showing her Dad's page with all of the beautiful tributes.....now she is here too. I will be adding information about my Mom at a later date. I am unable to do so right now because my heart is too broken. For now I wanted to get my Mom on Find a Grave with Dad as soon as possible. I will be adding photos of my Mom, and sharing about what a beautiful person she was.
Mom's cremains are interred with Dad, at Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery, San Diego, CA.
As in life, Dad and Mom are together again. Forever Sweethearts on earth, and now holding hands in Heaven for Eternity. They were married for 70 years. We lost our precious Dad on July 29, 2013. They were so very in love.
Mom was the most beautiful Christian lady, WWII bride to our Dad, and Wife of a courageous Firefighter. She was brave and strong, in her gentle way. Her and Dad were both fun, and funny. Mom was the most wonderful person, and shining example of a true Christian. She didn't preach it, she lived it. Everyone witnessed God through my Mom. She made so many sacrifices for our family. Her smile and laughter brought light and life wherever she was. Her warmth and compassion would light up a room. When Dad was on 24 hour duty at the fire station, she almost always took us two kids to visit him. We loved that so much.

Mom is survived by two children: Donel Herbert, Lynne Herbert
She is survived by four grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.
We love and miss Mom more each day. We know we will all be together again. Until that time, our lives will never be the same without her.
