1919 - Speaking at the welcome home demonstration at Cambewarra, on Tuesday night, Mr. Mark Morton referred to the fact that Private Stanley Brown had placed himself in the hands of the army medical men when at the Front, permitting them to take from his veins a quantity of blood for transfusion to a sick soldier, this act on his part saving the life of a comrade. The incident he considered was deserving of the Victoria Cross.
