Steven Dean Hopkins, age 61, of Marionville, Missouri passed away September 25, 2015 peacefully at his home surrounded by family. He was born on June 30, 1954 in Independence, Kansas the son of Virgil and Norma (Sparkman) Hopkins.
Steve graduated from Marionville High School in 1972 and on March 19, 1974 he was united in marriage to Shirley Lynn Janes. He worked as a heavy equipment operator eventually owning his own company and was last employed by Hartman & Company. He loved to hunt and watch his grandchildren in their various sporting activities.
Steve was preceded in death by his father, Virgil Hopkins; a step father, Jim Owens; and his parents-in-law, Orville and Doris Janes.
He is survived by his loving wife, Shirley Hopkins; a son, Greg Hopkins and wife Lydia; a daughter Kristin Bright and husband Matt; ten grandchildren, Gage, Abbie, Olivia, Gabe, Lottie, Owen, Anna, Eli, Isaac, and one expected in March of next year; a great grandchild, Maddox; his mother, Norma Owens; two brothers, Brent Hopkins, and David Hopkins; two sisters, Lesa Dummit, and Nancy Ghan.
Burial at Marionville IOOF cemetery in Marionville.
