Anna married her sweetheart, Charles Thornton, on June 5, 1943. Prior to raising their family, she worked as an executive secretary for Fowler Heating. She volunteered for many organizations including her church, school PTA, AFS, Republican Committee Chairwoman in Venango Township. Anna enjoyed gardening, cooking, crocheting, and entertaining guests. Anna was a lifetime member of the Gideon Auxiliary.
She is preceded in death by her sisters, Mary Thornton and Katherine May; brothers, Mike and James Wargo.
Anna is survived by her husband of 72 years, Charles, at Manchester Commons; a son, David Thornton (Marsha) of Benbrook, Texas; two daughters, Beci Campbell (Paul) of Williamsburg, Pa. and Beth Sahlmann (Matt) of Fairview, Pa.; exchange student daughter, Lucy Ortiz Rojas (James); grandchildren; six stepchildren, eight great-grandchildren, twelve step great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Interment, Wales Cemetery.
