Stuntman. Actor. Tap was born Edward Clay Canutt. He was the son of legendary stuntman Yakima Canutt, and brother of stuntman Joe Canutt. He worked on Western films from "Only the Valiant" (1951) to the "The Last Hard Men" (1976). Tap was part of Kit West’s stunt crew. He was the stunt double for Stephen Boyd in "Fall of the Roman Empire" (1963), and for Adam West in the Three Stooges feature film, "The Outlaws is Coming"(1965). Tap was the Second Unit Director of Stunts in "El Condor"(1970). Tap's prolific, stunt work in other films included: "Ben Hur"(1959), "Spartacus"(1960), "El Cid"(1961), "It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World"(1963), "Cat Ballou"(1965), "The Wild Bunch"(1969), "Chisum"(1970), "Rio Lobo"(1970), "Joe Kidd"(1972), and "The Cowboys"(1972). On TV, he played a settler on "Daniel Boone" (1967).
