Bryan R. Dickson
March 6, 1978
September 23, 2015

After a long battle with cancer and at the young age of 37, Bryan passed away peacefully into the loving arms of our lord and savior on September 23, 2015.
Bryan was born in Reno Nevada on March 6, 1978 To Steven and Kathleen (Souza) and lived his entire life in the Truckee Meadows. Bryan graduated from Edward C. Reed High School in 1997 and was a member of the first Reed High Varsity Soccer team to reach the state championship game. It was at Reed that he met the love of his life Teresa Marie Gorsett. They were wed in 2002 and settled in the Sparks Area.
In the earlier years of his battle with cancer and due to the treatment he endured, Bryan was told his chances of ever having children were minimal at best. Bryan and Teresa took minimal to a new level when in February 2003 the miracle they named Tyler Elliot was born. Teresa then gave birth to two more miracles, Devin Kyle June 2005 and Rylee Christine March 2007.
Bryan was employed for over 15 years at the University of Nevada in the parking services and maintenance departments eventually landing in the painting department.
Bryan's passion was not only his own children but also serving other children throughout the Reno Sparks area. Bryan was a volunteer Manager and Coach for 9 years with Sparks Little League eventually becoming Vice President of league operations. He was also Head Coach and Coach for 6 years with Sparks Pop Warner. Bryan met and became friends with many families from the area during his tenure in these positions.
Bryan and Teresa took their family on many camping adventures with a large portion of his extended family tagging along for many of these trips. Always up for a family event he never missed birthdays, sporting events, or family outings. Bryan was also a self-taught home improvement expert and automobile mechanic never afraid to tear out and rebuild a bathroom or automatic transmission. Because of the talents he acquired, family members and friends alike would not have to call him when they were in need of help with pretty much any home improvement or automobile issue. He would simply show up and help get it done.
In addition to Teresa and his children, Bryan is survived by his mother Kathleen and stepfather Rockie Jamison, Sparks, father Steven and stepmother Pam, Sparks, Sister Kristal McDowell (David), Sparks, brother Andrew (Amy), Fernley, brother Steven Junior, Reno, grandmother Sheila Stark, Sparks, grandmother Joanna Souza, Hawthorne , and many other family members.
Services will be held at the Sparks Nazarene Church, 2200 El Rancho Drive. Sparks, Nevada. Saturday October 3, 2015 at 12:00 PM

Reception will follow in the church gym.
