NEWPORT NEWS - Mabel Louise Bentley, 60, a Peninsula resident for 20 years, died Wednesday, Dec. 11.

Mrs. Bentley was a native of Franklin.

Survived by two daughters, Patricia A. Pittard of Newport News and Pamela L. Bickett of Gwynn's Island; a son, Capt. James H. Bentley with the Army at Fort Lee; six sisters, Iva Haywood of Williamsburg, Odell McFarland and Bertha Foster of Portsmouth, Mary Ellen Romanczyk of Chesapeake, Sue Bell of Virginia Beach and Gracie Mahoney of Anchorage, Alaska; five brothers, Williard Moody and Thomas Moody of Portsmouth, Ryland Moody and David Moody of Chesapeake and Frank Moody of Norfolk; and eight grandchildren.

Visitation from 7 to 8 tonight at home of her daughter, 631 Daniel Drive, Newport News. Graveside service at 10 a.m. Saturday in Peninsula Memorial Park by the Rev. Richard Tison.

Arrangements by W.J. Smith & Son Funeral Home.
