Jeremiah died on July 12, 1915 at South Heidelberg, PA from an excavating accident while at the State Asylum. He was taken to Lock Haven, PA for his burial on July 13th.

Herman – The remains of Jeremiah B Herman, who was killed by a fall of clay while working beneath a clay bank arrived here Tuesday afternoon. He and John B. Gormley were working at the State Hospital at Wernersville, Pa., when the accident happened.
He is survived by the following brothers and sisters: Albert, of Altoona; Meek of California; Archie, B., Rufus, Ernest J, and Ward of this city; Mrs Martin Held, of Allentown, and Miss Minta, of this city.
Funeral services were conducted at the home of Ernest Herman, South Jones street, Wednesday afternoon by Rev. Charles N. Shindler, pastor of St. John’s English Lutheran church. Interment in Highland cemetery.
