Mrs. Crockett was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Elizabethton where she served her church through her prayers, her presence, her gifts, her service and her witness. She served as the Sunday School Superintendent for many years.
She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend to all who knew her till the end of her life. She enjoyed her home and the joy of working in her flowers.
She is survived by; a beloved son and daughter-in-law, John R Crockett, III and his wife Lanelle, a sister, Anne H. Austin, a grandson, John R. “Jay” Crockett, IV and his wife Victoria, and three great grandchildren, Callie, Chloe and Caroline.
A service to honor the life of Jean Crockett will be conducted at 5:00 PM Sunday, September 27th, 2015 in the First United Methodist Church of Elizabethton with Rev. Raymond Amos officiating. Music will be under the direction of the Chancel Choir and David Arney, organist. The family will receive friends from 3:00 till 4:45 PM prior to the service hour. The committal service will be at 10:00 AM Monday, September 28, 2015 at in the Crown Section of Happy Valley Memorial Park. Those wishing to attend the committal service are asked to meet at the funeral home at 9:15 AM Monday to go in procession to the cemetery. Active pallbearers will be: Wayne Hyatt, Richard Tetrick, Richard Robinson, Tom Little, Frank Schaff, Chuck Finley, David Pinckard, Carl Burrough, and Kelly Geagley.
The family wishes to thank Judy and Victor Deloach and the wonderful nurses and staff of Ivy Hall for the loving care they gave to Jean for the past six years. The family also wishes to thank the nurses and staff on 5500 of the Johnson City Medical Center for their compassionate and loving care during the final days of Jean’s life.
