Rebecca Field was the third daughter and fourth of eleven children born to Jeremiah Field (c. 1764-1830) and his wife Eleanor Sherwood (1776-1859), of Randolph County, North Carolina. His paternal grandparents were Colonel William Field, Jr. and his wife Lydia Elswick, and his maternal grandparents were Daniel Sherwood III and his wife Frances Linthicum.

Rebecca married John Tyler (13 July 1802-3 Oct. 1864) in Rockingham County on 26 Feb. 1839, bond date, his second wife. (Her brother Rev. Benton Field had settled in Rockingham Co. in the 1820s.) Rebecca and John had two children: Mary Elizabeth Eleanor Tyler (16 May 1840-25 Sept. 1925), Rebecca Everline Tyler (2 Jan. 1844-24 June 1864).

I am afraid I do not know where Rebecca died or where she is buried. I assume she died in Rockingham County. I will add more information when I find it.
