Interment will be in St. Peter Catholic Cemetery in Carencro. The Rev. Mark Ledoux, pastor of St. Peter Roman Catholic Church, will officiate at the services.
Mrs. Martin was a native and lifelong resident of Carencro where she was a parishioner of St. Peter Roman Catholic Church. She was a member of the Bonne Mort Society, Sacred Heart League, Ladies Altar Society and was a strong supporter of St. Pierre Genealogical Society. Her hobbies included sewing and artwork.
Survivors include her husband of sixty-four years, George E. Martin; one son, Gene Ernest Martin and his wife, Debbie; two brothers, Harold Sonnier and his wife, Laura, all of Carencro and Jimmie Sonnier and his wife, Louella, of Lafayette; two sisters, Claire Sonnier and Dena S. Longcrier and her husband, Henry; three grandchildren, Andrea M. Riche and her husband, Nicholas, Melanie M. LeBlanc and her husband, Cody, and Sara E. Martin; and two great grandchildren, Daxton Martin Riche and Rylee Ann Riche all of Carencro.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jimmie Sonnier and the former Thelma Bacque; and one brother, Patrick Sonnier.
A rosary will be prayed at 7:00 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 3:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Sunday and will continue from 8:00 a.m. until service time on Monday.
Pallbearers will be Nicholas Riche, Cody LeBlanc, Claude Martin, Henry Longcrier, Charles Richard and Bennett Richard.
