Funeral Services for Van Donald Bennett, 86, will be held at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home in Shreveport on Tuesday, May 21, 2013 at 11 a.m. Visitation will be the preceding evening from 6 to 8 pm.
Van Bennett passed away peacefully Friday May 17 at the War Veteran's Home in Bossier City, where he'd resided for the past 5 years. He was born to Monroe and Mary Galien Bennett in Derry, LA and moved to Shreveport, LA when he married Frances Neldine Reece Bennett in 1952.
All of Mr. Bennett's brothers and sisters and his parents preceded him in death, as well as his wife, Nell. He is survived by daughter and sons, Tina Bennett McCalister, Dennis Bennett and Randy Bennett, and their spouses, children, and grandchildren, all who reside in the Arklatex. He is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and lifelong friends.
