"Philip and Sarah Crane Denman moved to Springfield, NJ, where he was one of the founders of the Community. Their home was a very nice one, built near the Presbyterian Church, and was still standing in 1947. They died in Springfield. Philip left a will proved 10 Apr 1780. they had eight children: Mary, Abigail, Joseph, Jacob, William, Phillip, Mathias and Samuel."

Note that other data shows there may have been a daughter Martha.

Researcher Albert Fiacre sent the following to me in 2004:

Date of death is not certain. Many researchers cite either November 7, 1780 or September 15, 1780. Both of these dates conflict with the probate date of April 10, 1780. Betty Pond Snyder in "Denman-Frisinger and Allied Families," Gateway Press, Baltimore: 1987, cites the date of death as only November 7, 17??. If the November 7th day is correct, then 1779 seems logical. The date of the will is September 15, 1778, so the only choices seem to be November 7, 1778 or November 7, 1779.

Brought to New Jersey by his mother after the death of his father in late 1713 or early 1714
