THE PARIS NEWS, Nov.10, 2004

Melba Lois Stone, 90, of Paris passed away Tuesday, Nov. 9, 2004, at Paris Health Care Center, at which time Bright-Holland Funeral Home received her into their care.

Services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 11, at Bright-Holland Funeral Home with Bro. Gary Dennis officiating. Burial follows in Meadowbrook Cemetery. The family receives friends from 6 to 7 p.m. Wednesday evening at the funeral home.

She was born Feb. 17, 1914 in Lannius, the daughter of Charles A. Moore and Willie Duke Moore.

She married Raford Stone in 1954.

She was a member of Bonham Street Church of Christ. She loved cooking, shopping and eating out. She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents and two brothers, Jack Moore and Charles Moore.

Survivors include one step-son, Mickey Stone and wife, Judy, of Greenville; one step-daughter, Phyllis Torrence of Jacksonville, Fla.; one sister, Helen Vibrock and husband, Curtis, of Paris; one niece, Joleta Moore of Greenville; two special friends, Freida Bridges and husband, Luther, of Paris; and Nora Randall of Paris; four grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren, plus numerous nieces and nephews.
