Lynn Jacob Snyder, 73, of Hartfield, Va. was called home on Sept. 20, 2015 while with his daughters and family at home.
Lynn was born in Greenville, MS, January 4, 1942 to Thelma and Grant Snyder who preceded him in death. Also preceded in death are his sister, Duane Sparks and brother, Robert Snyder.
Lynn spent most of his childhood in the Copeland Park area of Hampton and the rest of his life in Virginia and Florida.
Lynn enjoyed a variety of careers including 18 years at Newport News Shipbuilding, 18 years at Dominion Virginia Power Surry Nuclear Power Station where he received several Mechanical Engineering Certifications, and 10 years at Walt Disney World Florida. He also spent the last several years volunteering at Riverside Walter Reed Hospital in Gloucester, VA. During the years of 1983-1988 he enjoyed coaching the Northampton Little League Girls Softball. He is a member of Hermitage Baptist Church in Churchview.
Lynn thoroughly enjoyed lifetime spent with family on camping trips and surf fishing in the Outer Banks and Ocracoke Island, NC.
Lynn is survived by two daughters, two brothers, five grandchildren (names of the living have been omitted per Find A Grave rules), nine great- grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild, whom all truly adored him.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, September 23, 2015 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Parklawn-Wood Funeral Home. A celebration of life service will be held on Thursday, September 24, 2015, 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Hampton-Veterans Memorial Gardens.
